Rubidium Frequency Standard Data
There are three different types of atomic clocks; cesium, hydrogen and rubidium. Rubidium oscillators operate at 6,834,682,608 Hz.
Note that of the three atomic standards rubidium has the lowest accuracy. Rubidium is less accurate than both Cesium and Hydrogen, but accuracy goes hand-in-hand with cost.
Rubidium Oscillator Comparison vs Standards
The graph depicts the long term stability over time for each of the different frequency standards: Quartz, Rubidium, Cesium, and Hydrogen Maser. Three of these standards are atomic based; Cesium [Cs], Hydrogen [H] and Rubidium [Rb]. Cesium [or Caesium] is used by the International System of Measurement as a time base.
