A Web Spider is a program that comes out to read your site. Most search engines have their own spider. Getting spidered means that you will show up in their search engine. www.interfacebus.com is an established site so it gets spidered all the time. This blog page shows how often interfacebus was spidered by GoogleBot

So any time I post a new page I figure about 3 weeks before it will show up in a search listing, depending on when I post it.
That's not true for Blogger or Google Page Creator, when you show up the next day. It's also not true if you post a site map out to Google's Site Maps.
A spider can eat up a lot of band width, because they are always reading your pages ~ wait awhile.
