1. You can sign up to be an Associate with Amazon.com's affiliate marketing program.
2. Sign up for a paypal account and put a Donate button on you blog or web site.
3. Up-load your products to Google Base and sell them using Google Checkout
4. There are many sites that will pay for short articles, or product reviews. However you loss out by not posting on your own site and running ads with them.
5. Sell items on Zazzle, See my gallery at Zazzle
6. Get paid to view ads at 'clixsense', take surveys and so on.
7. Get paid to write reviews on your blog via 'payperpost'.
8. Other companies also provide ads you can run on a web site. But normally you can't combine ads from more than one company on a single page.

I'm sure they are many other way to make money running a web site. I don't try them because they don't bring in the money Google does and they that up to much of my time. My web site consumes most of my time. Just research the plan before you sign up for it and you shouldn't have any problems. Except for Google I have not tried any these I have listed.
I do have a buddy that sells space on his pages for links, as long as you put a rel=nofollow behind it you should be ok. I do accept banner ads from engineering equipment manufacturers. At any given time, I have one or two companies paying for banner placement.
