The derating graph provides the maximum power vs ambient temperature for a 2N3762UA and 2N3762UA transistor in a 'UA' surface mount package. A heat sink may be attached to the metal lid of the surface mount device [SMD].
Temperature derating is a standard design practice for electrical engineers.
