2N2432 Temperature-Power Derating Curve [2N2432A]
NPN General Purpose Silicon Transistor. Package, TO-18 Metal Can.
2N2432 Applications; High performance, low level, low noise amplifier

2N2432 Transistor Power Derating Curves
Derate linearly 2.0 mW/0C above +250C Ta [Temperature Ambient]
Derate linearly 4.0 mW/0C above +250C Tc [Temperature Case]
Use the Graph to determine how much to derate operating power [wattage] based on ambient operational temperature. Installing a heat sink or supplying forced air cooling are two methods to increase the 2N2432 operational temperature range with out the need for derating. Transistor Derating Curves
Note; Top curve is thermal runaway loci and cannot be used as a derate design curve since it exceeds
the maximum ratings for the 2N2432. Operating under this curve using these mounting conditions
assures the 2N2432 will not have a thermal runaway. This is the true inverse of the worst case
thermal resistance value extrapolated out to the thermal runaway point. For more detail refer to How to Interpret Derating Curves.
