MIL-STD-1553 Schematic Diagram

MIL-STD-1553 is a DOD Military (MIL) Standard (STD), which defines both the Mechanical, Electrical, and Functional characteristics.
MIL-1553 may be transformer coupled. The schematic shows how different devices on the MIL-STD-1553 interface bus are connected.

MlL-STD-1553B does not specify the type of connector used to interconnect cables that make up a network. Notice 2, paragraph 30.10.3, however, specifies that, for applications that use concentric connectors or inserts for each bus [Pin Out info]: the center pin of the connector or insert shall be used for the high (positive) Manchester hi-phase signal. The inner ring shall be used for the low (negative) Manchester hi-phase signal. There are currently two types of connectors in general use.
1: a multi-pin connector that comes in various styles including circular, rectangular, and rack and panel.
2: is the discrete concentric triaxial design.

MIL-STD-1553 Standard/Specifications

MIL-STD-1553 ~ [Military-Standard-1553b]
MIL-STD-1773 - Fiber Optics mechanization of an Aircraft Internal Time Division Command/response Multiplex Data Bus
MIL-HDBK-1553A - Multiplex Applications Handbook
MIL-STD-1760C - Interface Standard for Aircraft/Store Electrical Interconnection System
MIL-STD-1397C - Input/Output Interfaces, Standards Digital data, Navy Systems
MIL-STD-1397 {NTDS} ~ [Description of the Bus, this web site]

NATO calls MIL-STD-1553B: STANAG 3838AVS;, the UK calls it DEF STAN 00-18. Now controlled by the SAE as AS15531, and re-released by NATO as STANAG 7155.
STANAG 3910; A derivation of MIL-1553 (like MIL-1773 ?) used in NATO / UK. Operates at 100Mb/s over fiber.
ARINC 629; Another derivation of MIL-1553 used by commercial aircraft. Yet another was ARINC 453.
MMSI: Miniature Mission Stores Interface. 2-wire, 10Mbps 1553 protocol transmitted using RS-485 transceiver(s). Also called Enhanced Bit Rate 1553 (EBR-1553). MMSI / EBR

SAE AS5652; 10Mbps, Multi-drop
