Piezo speakers offer faster response then magnet speakers because of their lower mass [no voice coil].
Magnet speakers are less efficient then piezo devices because of the loss via the voice coil.
The impedance of piezo devices decreases with frequency, it appears as a lossy capacitor.
Because of the difference in impedance over frequency between magnet and piezo speakers, care must be taken in matching them with an amplifier.
An amplifier designed to drive a magnetic speaker may have trouble driving a piezo device if the amplifier has a dynamic range above 100kHz
[because the impedance drops very low].
