Editor note; because I can find little or no information on this interface and the fact that the specification was first released in 1996 tells me that this interface may be obsolete. That's not to say that this bus is still not in use or that it hasn't been updated or rev-ed over the last 12 years, but there is only so much that can be done to an interface that is a decade old.
However; having said that it may be that the protocol is much more important than the through-put or interface speed.
