Battery Data:

Batteries should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area with an optimal storage temperature range of 0°C to 25°C. If prolonged storage is anticipated, batteries should be protected against excessive humidity. This will prevent moisture from forming an electrical pathway, which can lead to severe galvanic corrosion. How ever a higher temperature is preferred while operating. Excessive high temperature can damage a battery.

There are two general types of batteries; Wet or Dry cells.
Wet cell batteries use a liquid electrolyte [in solution] while Dry cell batteries use a paste electrolyte. A Carbon-Zinc [Dry] cell uses a carbon rod [positive] and a zinc [negative] case. The Alkaline cell uses zinc as the negative electrode and manganese dioxide as the positive electrode, using an alkaline electrolyte. The Nickel-Cadmium cell uses nickel hydroxide [negative] and cadmium hydroxide [positive] and potassium hydroxide as the electrolyte.
The Lithium Battery uses lithium metal or a lithium aluminum alloy in its negative electrode (anode) and manganese dioxide in its positive electrode (cathode). The Lithium-ion Battery uses lithium metallic oxide in its positive electrode (cathode) and carbon material in its negative electrode (anode).
