4xxx Logic Manufacturers - "4000 Series Logic"

The 4000 series logic family is obsolete and should not be used for new designs. Check the Logic Design page for possible alternatives. The 4000 logic family was true CMOS, both internal to the IC and the IC's External IC pins used CMOS gates. While the newer TTL/CMOS device used internal CMOS gates with TTL I/O. The 4000 CMOS gates would operate with any number of voltage sources, with 5v, 12v, and 15 volts being the most common supply voltage [Vcc]. The 4000 family of IC really went obsolete in the 1980's with the introduction of the ACT, and AHCT series of devices.
