A listing of Discrete Logic SCR Manufacturers and vendors, listed in alphabetic order.
An SCR is listed here if the manufacturers lists the device as an SCR, other wise use the thyristor listing.
An SCR is a Thyristor, or one style or type of Thyristor.

SCR Vendors {Silicon Controlled Rectifier}

Central Semiconductor
{SMD and Leaded Thyristor SCR, TO-39 Case, SOT-23}

Infineon Technologies
{SCR/SCR-SCR/Diode Module}

LittleFuse
{SCR Manufacturer}

NTE
{0.8A to 7 amp SCR; TO92, TO5, TO126, TO202, TO64, TO66 packages}

Powerex
{High power Silicon Controlled Rectifiers}

STMicroelectronics
{Surface Mount-Sensitive gate-Standard TRIACs-Modules}

Design Guideline:
The recommendation for longer SCR life is to operate at 50 percent of the forward current, and 75 percent of the maximum Peak Inverse rating.
Limit the maximum junction temperature to 125 degrees Centigrade.

What is an SCR; Also called a Silicon Controlled Rectifier. A reverse blocking triode thyristor.
A Thyristor that can be triggered into conduction mode in only one direction.
With any semiconductor, an SCR is available in either a surface mount package or through-hole 3-terminal device package.

Schematic diagram of different protection circuits for an SCR
SCR Protection Circuit

Two different protection circuits are shown attached to the Gate of an SCR.
The first circuit adds resistor Rg to limit the current into the gate of the SCR and a Zener diode to protect against voltage transients.
The next circuit adds an integrator, formed by Lg and R, which limits the initial surge current into the SCR.
When the gate of the SCR is turned on the Zener diode [Dz] protects against any voltage transients.
