This is a listing of EPROM IC Memory manufacturers. The types of products or memory devices they produce are listed under the company name.
The listing is subdivided into DRAM Memory Manufacturers, SRAM Memory Manufacturers, FLASH Memory Manufacturers, EPROM Memory Manufacturers, EEPROM Memory Manufacturers.

EEPROM - Memory Manufacturers

PROM:........Programmable Read Only Memory
EPROM:....Erasable PROM
EEPROM:..Electrically Erasable PROM

EEPROM: or an Electrically Erasable PROM is the same as an EPROM except that an EEPROM may be erased via an electric field, hence the term Electrically Erasable. Because these devices are erased via a voltage and not light they do not require a window like EPROMs do. How ever there is another type of EPROM that does not have a window; One Time Programmable EPROMs [OTP]. OTP EPROMs are meant to be programmed only once so do not require a window to be erased.
A Flash EPROM is about the same as an EEPROM but does not require an addition special voltage to be erased, and may be erased all at once and not on a byte bases.

A serial EPROM by definition reads and writes data one bit at a time, serially.
In addition to power and ground the serial EEPROM may have a chip select, a data organization pin and input output pins.
On some serial EEPROMs the data organization pin determines the data length, as 8 bit or 16 bit words for example.
A number of serial interface protocols might be used, including; I2C, SPI and Microwire.
The use of any particular interface would be determined by the controller or processor the EEPROM is connected to.

Normally the package styles are not mentioned here because of the number of options.
A serial EEPROM might be packaged in one of the following;
8-lead SOIC, or the smaller and thinner TSSOP package.
