Three HDMI connectors are defined; Standard, Mini, and Micro connectors.
The physical size gets smaller, but the electrical performance stays the same.

HDMI is the desired connector on the rear panel of Audio/Video gear, and DisplayPort is the desired connector on the newest PC.
However if you interface a TV to a computer than inter-connecting would require either to be on both devices.
