This is a diagram of a VXI bus 'C' size card. The maximum size
of the C board is shown below.
The connector locations and component
keep-out areas are indicated, face-plate screw locations are also indicated.
A card has a normal thickness of 90 mil for either VXI or VME boards.
However thicker cards may be used if the card edges are milled down top to continue to use a normal card guide.
Additional data is provided after the
graphic, Component height and other detailed data on VXI may be
found on the VXI bus or VME bus page.
The 340mm long C-size card would be used in combination with a 340mm long D-size card.
The 6U size, 160mm long cards are not normally found in the same chassis, because they would not reach the front panel.
IEEE 1101.1 Base Document for Mechanics ~ Defines 3U/6U/9U (high)
x 100/160/220/280/340/400mm (Long) cards
IEEE 1101.10 Mechanics for VME Boards and Subracks
IEEE 1101.11 Mechanics for Rear Transition Modules [6U high, but short]
Three card heights are allowed with VXI; 3U, 6U, or 9U; a single slot
card is 6T wide. Length is either 160mm or 340mm (Norm) The graphic compares the dimensions of both the C-size and D-size board dimensions. | 6U Card Dimensions |

VMEbus and VME component links.
VME was the original standard, VXI is a modification to VME.
