Desk Top Computer Manufacturers

There are 3 main types of desktop computers, these include:

Desk Top computer systems, Work Stations, and Gaming PCs.
Desk top PC systems are used at home or in the office.

Desktop systems as a rule are middle of the road computers, but many companies allow the different options to be configured and upgraded. Normally Desk-top computers have one or 2 PCIe x16 Video slots and one processor [which may be dual core].
Workstations normally come with dual processor sockets [which could also be dual core] and up to eight DIMM memory sockets.
Gamer PCs are also high-end systems, but almost never dual processor systems. In many cases gaming PCs come with cases that are a bit more flashy, and with high-end video cards.

Dual Core processor have two cpu's inside one processor IC. Quad processor IC's are shipping now.

Each different manufacturer that produces computers will offer different options.
For example, only certain Mother boards, cases or video cards will be offered by the manufacturers.
