The types of products or devices the manufacturers produce are listed under the company name, in alphabetic order.

EBX (Embedded Board eXpandable), form factors: 146mm x 203mm 5.75 x 8.00 inches.
Used as a Embedded Single Board Computer, SBC, or motherboard. EBX allows for PC104-Plus expansion and has an optional PCMCIA Card slot.
Version 1.1 was released in 1997 [there is newer release that revised the EBX specification in 2005]
The EBX form factor is also considered to be one of the 5.25 inch SBC board styles, which also contains PC/104 expansion I/O.
The latest release allows for the PCI/104 standard.
The 5.25 inch nomenclature relates to the size of 5.25 inch media drives. EBX may also be found under 5.25" Embedded System Board.
The PC/104 Embedded Consortium [pc104.org] controls the standard. EBX Express may be the upgrade path.

EBX Board Manufacturers

Acrosser Technology Co.,Ltd {5.25 EBX SBC Pentium/Celeron Socket 479/370. Dual LAN/Quad COM ports}

Eurotech S.p.A. {EBX format Single Board Computer Module, AMD or Intel}

VersaLogic Corporation {Pentium M/III/Celeron Single Board Computer EBX products}

The EBX board format is one of a number of motherboards in the same size range.
The difference between the formats come down to what they allow or don't allow and any restrictions.
EBX defines a keep-out area for a PC/104 stack which consumes over 3.5 x 3.5 inches.
In addition to the area consumed by the PC/104 stack, an additional keep out is defined for the connectors coming off the stack.
Two sides of the stack have another 3.5 inch x 0.5 inch keep-out for connectors and wires [in addition to the card keep-out].

Using this board format implies usage of the PC-104 standard, as 30 percent of the board area is dedicated to supporting it.
So the EBX might be compared to other board formats that allow the PC/104 [EPIC] or the PC-104 standard it self.

Other styles of Industrial Board Manufacturers, either Single Board Computers, or Embedded Mother Boards.
Note: The Embedded ATX Motherboard interface specification is not related to the EBX standard.

A listing of COTS [Commercial-Off-The-Shelf] EBX Card Manufacturers. The Embedded System Boards the companies produced are listed under the company name which are indexed in alphabetic order. In addition to functional cards, Prototyping Boards, Prototyping Card Manufacturers may also listed above.

The EBX card is a motherboard or Single Board Computer [SBC], which allows PC-104 as expansion.
The EBX standard defines mounting holes in each corner of the board to secure the card to some other base.
