The use of CCFL and EEFL lamps is in decline as lighting for computer backlights. Backlights using CCFL have been in decline for the last few years and currently only account for 50 percent of the designs shipped. In fact it's projected that in the next few years CCFL technology will be completely replaced by LED back-lighting, due to the lower power consumption.
